INTRODUCTION


RAD Series Spring-opposed Diaphragm Actuators is designed to assemble with rotating control valve by splined valve shaft, such as HCV 1000 series rotating ball valve and HCV 3000 series butterfly valve.. They are used both for on-off and throttling control. RAD Series actuator has a spring adjuster, so it can be assembled with or without a positioner according to different applications. please refer to relevant for more information about valve positioner.

All RAD actuators are rotate acting. The standard rotation is 90 degree, and 60 degree and 75 degree optional. Different valve shaft diameter are selectable to match valve designs.

RAD actuator has a rugged construction to avoid overpressure deformation and damage, and increase stability and service life.

RAD actuator has easy mounting with many accessories options, such as limit switch, travel indicator, positioned, topmounted hand wheel, side-mounted hand wheel, adjustable travel stop, etc. Option is varied for different actuator sizes.

Application flexibility


RAD diaphragm actuator has 4 sizes(330, 400, 600,&700), with design of fail-to-open or fail-to-close operation. It can be assembled with different kinds of rotate acting control valve or with other devices.


Excellent Control Accuracy

The construction connection features with single joint linkage with splined and damped lever, the lost motion is reduce to a minimum, and improve the control accuracy.


Rigid and simple construction

RAD actuator has a rugged construction to avoid over-pressure deformation and damage, increase stability and service life.


Safety operation and maintenance

The linkage of actuator and valve is totally enclosed in the housing and well protected. The compression of the actuator spring is controlled, an outside spring adjuster is used to relieve spring compression for safety disassembly. The packing can be easily removed without removing any other parts, save the maintenance cost.


Mounting flexibility

RAD diaphragm actuator has four mounting styles and positions related to the valves, and available for both forward flow (flow into the face side of disc or ball) and reverse flow (flow into the hub side of the disk or ball) application.


Variety of Accessories Available

A variety of accessories and instrumentations are available, which including limit switch, travel indicator, positioned, top-mounted hand wheel, side-mounted hand wheel, adjustable travel stop, etc. Option is varied for different actuator sizes.


An adjustable down travel stop is installed in a special actuator housing. The assembly includes cap screw, locknut, lever and rod end bearing. The cap screw can be positioned to limit downward travel of the actuator lever to any rotation between 0 and 90 degrees.
