ADR Series Spring-opposed Diaphragm Actuators are designed to assemble with straight acting control valves. ADR actuator has revise action design, and is used to provide reliable on-off or throttling operation for control valves.



Brief Introduction

ADR Spring-opposed diaphragm actuator is working with springbalance principle. When valve controller or valve positioned pneumatic output signals applied to the actuator diaphragm varying, the actuator change it into movement of valve stem, and position the valve plug to its travel spot.


All ADR actuators are revise acting. The applying air is pressured to the lower diaphragm case. When this loading pressure is increased, the actuator stem moving upward; when this loading pressure is reduced, the opposing spring force moves the actuator stem downward.When the loading pressure fail, the spring forces the stem to the extreme upward position. ADR actuators provide failto-close action for push-down-to-close valves and fail-to-open action for pushdown-to-open valves.


Zero setting of the actuator is determined by the compression of the actuator spring. Span is set by both the actuator spring rate and the number of springs available.

ADR diaphragm actuator has five types in 12 sizes (300,340,400,450,460,500,600,700,760,800,870&1000), Size 700 & 870 offer two travel length (3”and 4”), available for almost all control valveapplications.


Excellent Linearity for Loading Pressure/Travel

Customized springs ordered from USA, made by quality spring steel. All material can be traced. Physical and chemical properties pass through rigorous testing, excellent load characteristics and excellent stability.


High Thrust Capability

The diaphragm using the hydrodynamic design, using the U.S. patent material formulations and a unique double-coated process, pressure molding, with high thrust, high burst strength and stable and reliable longterm life. 


High Dynamic Stability and Fast Frequency Response

The design of the diaphragm case has the smaller volume on pressure signal side, reduced the response time to a minimum. Meantime diaphragm head case is deeper to allow the diaphragm move in a large capacity, minimum diaphragm area changes throughout the whole stem travel.


Normal Temperature and Cold Service Applications

Excellent material ensure actuator’s performance with temperature down to -50C(-58 F). Consult HCV technical support when applications operating temperature below -40 C(-40 F).


Rigid and simple construction

The design of movement is passing through the stem connector components, which is reliable and easy to install, eliminating the effect of empty motion and valve inaccurate positioning.


Variety of Accessories Available

A variety of accessories are available, including limit switch, top-mounted hand wheel, side-mounted hand wheel, valve positioner, valve regulator, and other accessories and instrumentation.
